Brass Monkey One: Singles Results

Thirteen keen fisho’s hit North Shore Road this Sunday, all vying for the pot and the challenge of catching anything with fins on a Napier winter morning.
The sea was good, the weather clear and it didn’t take long for the first fish to appear. Overall, though, the fishing was slow, with only a few weighers landed.
Again, there was a distinct lack of kahawai, the main fare being lemons and a few other species that didn’t make the cut. The smart money went to Jimmy B, who once again showed his skill with a 3.8kg SSH. Second went to Kane W who managed a weighable Kahawai, and third to George F with a very creditable .56 gurnard.
Congratulations to them and all those who made the effort.
Let’s hope we see similar conditions and few more fish next time. Note your diaries for Sunday August 23rd for the final BM of the season which will be the doubles.
Cheers Rex
