Well another weekend done and dusted. What was a crappy Saturday morning turned into a stunning Sunday. Twenty Three fisho’s got out and about over the weekend. One I must mention is Sue Lawson. We, (Dion and I) went for a drive to check out Awatoto on Saturday morning and pull into the carpark to find Sue, dressed in her wet weather gear teeming with rain with her trusty side kick (her dog, and saturated at that) out there doing it tough. You are an inspiration Sue good on you 🙂
With the 23 fisho’s who went out, only 17 fish were caught.
Hamish Nichol got a very nice Blue Moki of 1.635kg,
A total of10 Kahawai were caught,
Three Barracuda were caught, the heaviest going to Kane with a 2.08kg and Mark Taylor bringing the other two home, 2kg and 1.9kg.
Three Red Cod were caught, second heaviest going to Gary Kemsley with a 0.725kg and third heaviest to Kane with a 0.670kg fish.
A special mention too to Estella Charmichael, a new member to the club, who not only did it on her own and showed us how its done, but got the first 3 heaviest Kahawai of 2.345, 2.06 & 1.735, and also the heaviest Red Cod of .825kg.
Nice work Estella!!
Well done to all those who made it out and to all those who got fish. The next Field Weekend will be the 7th and 8th November…. good luck to all.
