It was a tough weekends fishing for most people, the southerly swell restricting the members to local sections of beach protected by headlands. The water was somewhat murky in most places but still 40 members turned out to wet a line.
James Benge was the outstanding (and furthest travelled) angler again, returning from Mahanga with a bag of Snapper, and Kahawai.
The best fish caught locally was a new NZ Record Blue Shark of 38.20Kg weighed in by Dion Jeffares. Taking the existing record from another Pania member Alan Park.
Total fish weighed in: 24.
Lemon Shark: 9
Conger Eel: 1
Blue Shark: 1
