The sea looked good Friday and looked even better come Saturday morning.
Snapper were present in good numbers while gurnard and kahawai were being caught regularly all over the boundary as well.
Sadly, a nasty Southerly hit the beaches early evening forcing the fishing to go downhill. Standout fishers were Kane, 23.11 kg of fish, James Parahi, 18.6kg and Sue Lawson with a great kingfish of 6.78kg as well as a good haul of Kahawai.
Although most of the Pania Crew managed to weighed something, Gisborne were better, producing some epic hauls as well.
Final tally over the top five fisho’s from each club.
Congratulations to Gisborne for lifting the Pania Shield on this occasion and thanks to all clubs who attended. Let’s hope for a better result next time.
Thanks to all who contributed and in particular the 12 Pania attendees who gave it a good shot
