Kia ora members,
So the end of another season and what a disruptive season it was but l am so glad that none of our members were effected by the Covid-19 disease, with the illness at least.
I must commend members of our executive and committee for keeping us informed about happenings for the club during the shut down.
The executive has done an amazing job with organising the rest of our year and being able to fit it in casting days, a few field weekends, and the brass monkeys into the time period we had left.
Also having the forethought to move our Kahawai competition to later in the year, which of course will be beneficial to the club.
I know a lot of work and thought went into achieving this.
Prior to the lock down there were some good fish being caught and weighed in, but l want to say, I was so impressed with the first weigh in after lock down. The amount of top quality fish caught that weekend was amazing and I haven’t seen a weigh in of that caliber in quite some time. I guess the sad thing about that was that none of those fish were caught locally and a lot of travel was involved to achieve this.
Once again I would like to thank all our members for the support over the year as difficult as this has been with these challenging times.
Remember our AGM is on the 5th of August, be great to see as many members as possible for this, and also hope to see everyone at our prize giving dinner on the 15th of August at the Puketapu.
